Location

The Tablelands are a fertile plateau which is part of the Great Diving Range in Queensland, Australia.

The region has an area covering 64,768 square kilometres of diverse landscapes including world heritage rainforests and crater lakes, expansive savannahs and wetlands, along with a variety of rural and agricultural farming.  with an average altitude between 600 and 900m AHD.  

The principal river flowing across the plateau is the Barron River, which was dammed to form an irrigation reservoir named Lake Tinaroo.
