Tablelands
The Tablelands region is emerging as one of the most exciting places in North Queensland to do business.
Due to its varied climate, rich agricultural soils and plentiful irrigation water, this region will undoubtedly play a leading role in providing agricultural commodities to Australia and the world. Our climate varies from tropical to temporate, from dry to wet, offering the opportnity for the production of commodities as diverse as mangoes and other tropical fruits, dairy and beef and sugar cane, potatoes and peanuts.
Our region is also home to some significant wind resources which have been identified and earmarked for development in the near and medium future for power generation, using the most up to date wind generation technology. In this sense the Tablelands region will lead the nation.
This region, with well developed industrial estate land which is available at very competitive prices, is also on the cusp of development into an industrial base for the coastal community, which is, to a large extent, limited in future development in this area.
The next several years will be an exciting time for aviation and the development of aviation-based industry as the Mareeba aerodrome is further developed to accept new and transferring aviation service-based industries.
The Tablelands region offers a safe and stable business platform, with an undoubted future in tourism, industry, agriculture and aviation. Its many beautiful, natural features and sound economic base make it extremely attractive for existing, but importantly, new investment.
