Abstract

The Far North Queensland Regional Water Supply Strategy is an adaptive, long-term statement advancing solutions for the future urban, rural and industrial water needs of the Far North Queensland Region, while seeking to achieve optimal environmental, social and economic
outcomes. The strategy will be refreshed at key times when new information becomes available.

Once finalised, the regional water supply strategy will provide the framework, information and guidance for the management of water supply issues in the region over the next 50 years.

Information and actions identified in the strategy will be used when considering statutory regional planning and water resource planning in the area.
