Description	Rocca Manufacturing Pty Ltd is a start-up company which is seeking investment to commercialise a revolutionary agricultural machine called the Plastic Mulch Retriever (PMR) that provides significant benefits to farmers through greater efficiency in the lifting and removal of plastic mulch from a field after harvest. The PMR is a machine that allows for the lifting of plastic away from the soil, the removal of trash, weed matter and dirt as the plastic passes over the patent protected rattle bar elevator design, to a spool that collects the cleaned plastic mulch and allows for easier disposal. The machine can be operated by 2 people and perform the work involved in lifting plastic in a much more labour efficient manner. Field trials have been undertaken with the PMR and compared to current practices, which involve significant labour resources, it was estimated that the PMR provided for at least a 80% cost saving on previous practices. Over a 200 acre harvest area, this allowed for a payback period to the farmer of the cost of the PMR machine of 2 years at a price of A$23,500 plus GST and USD$18,500. Rocca Manufacturing have undertaken marketing activities in both the United States and in Australia and are already achieving sales in both countries.
